Fresh baked scones are easy to sell in the mornings at the local schools.​

The community loves to buy live chickens because they know the meat will be fresh.

SELF HELP GROUP ACHIEVEMENTS

Mai Chisamba, Zimbabwe's equivalent to Oprah Winfrey, visited a Self Help training class to the surprise and excitement of the participants.  She  selected four women to be on her TV show and talk about their businesses and their hopes for the future.  

The women in the Self Help Program have chosen many different businesses.  They have also learned how to shift to another business as the markets shift.

Groups selling dressed chickens or other frozen goods like Polonys (similar to bologna) have been successful in giving a freezer to each member. 

Making Tie-Dye fabric was an impressive business until the dyes became scarce and expensive.  The group switched to sewing clothes and draperies.
